Many great themed walks start right outside our front door and offer some surprises along the way.
- South Tyrol Strawberry Trail: this 9 km long trail leads through strawberry fields, past farms that invite you to take a break, and numerous learning stops for young and old.
- Mountain Farmer Trail: this 7 km long trail leads through varied landscapes and offers all kinds of stations with exciting information. And then, how about a stop at the Berggasthof Stallwies, where there is also a petting zoo.

Climbing wall Alperia on the Martello dam wall
The climbing wall Alperia is far from ordinary because the 40 climbing routes, some up to 80 m long, are all along the impressive Martello damn wall. The routes are of various difficulties from 4a to 7c and both for beginners and experts. The climbing wall is open from June to September, you must bring your own equipment.

The dam wall can not only be climbed but also viewed from the inside. The guided tours are also aimed at families with children. There’s simply no room for boredom!

Take cross-country skiing lessons
If you want to learn cross-country skiing in peace and quiet, the Hotel Waldheim is a great choice: the cross-country ski run starts in front of the hotel, host Alexander is a qualified cross-country skiing instructor who will be happy to give you lessons and we happen to be only a few minutes away from the Biathlon Centre Martello. And on top of that, you can rent your cross-country skiing equipment at the hotel!
Hotel Waldheim is a very well-kept small family hotel in the middle of the beautiful strawberry valley. Here you are spoiled and you are not a stranger, you feel at home. We have been coming to the Waldheim for many years and we always like coming back. Not only is everything very neat and clean, also the physical well-being is taken care of. It is a 3-star house with 4-star quality. We are already looking forward to our next vacation.
